Kennedy Center - Washington, D.C.

August 9th - August 12th 2004

The start of trip.

We arrived in D.C. on August 9th and settled into our hotel. The reality of what we're about to experience has been to sink a little more, and fortunately there is more excitement than trepidation. The State Department and folks from the Kennedy Center have all been very supportive and patient in answering all our questions, and we feel ready to get going!

Our concert at the Kennedy Center went very well, with a full audience in attendance. This is a tremendous venue for live music in D.C., featuring free concerts most every night at 6 pm. The audio/video broadcast from our performance should be available here : Millenium Stage Archives : the date was August 10th, 2004.

So, I'm now typing this from somewhere in the air between Tokyo and Vietnam, looking forward to meeting whoever is there to greet us when we land. Soon you'll see some real photos...
